Variators are stepless gearboxes in which torque transmission is carried out by means of friction discs. It is a module that is placed between the electric motor and the gearbox. Variattors are used to smoothly change the speed of the drive system. They are an alternative solution to inverters. Bonfiglioli is a manufacturer of variators from 0.12 kW to 9.2 kW. The speed range in stepless gearbozes of this type is 1:5. This means that using a standard 1400 rpm motor we achieve a speed control range from 150 rpm to 1000 rpm.
